THE STAT LINE: Kunz hit 11 field goals, including four 3-pointers, and finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds in the Hornets' 62-43 victory over Tennyson. He also had a game-high 23 points in a 74-60 win over Arroyo.

Jamie VanHorn

SCHOOL: San Ramon Valley

SPORT: Soccer

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Defender

THE STAT LINE: VanHorn, a center back, played a key role as the Wolves beat Amador Valley 2-1 and tied Monte Vista 0-0 to clinch an unbeaten regular season and a second consecutive East Bay Athletic League title. Entering this week's North Coast Section Division I playoffs, the Wolves had allowed just seven goals this season in 21 games.

THE STAT LINE: The Cal-bound Cowling scored a career-high 26 points in the Panthers' 66-48 nonleague victory over Eastside Prep-East Palo Alto. She also had 16 points in a 59-53 victory over rival Salesian.

BOYS

ISHMAIL ALI, San Leandro, Sr. -- Ali scored a game-high 26 points, including six 3-pointers, in the Pirates' 73-67 win over Castro Valley.

JOEY GOODREAULT, Miramonte, basketball, Jr. -- Goodreault's steal and basket with 4.8 seconds left lifted the Matadors to a 68-67 win over Campolindo. He had 15 points and five assists in the win. Goodreault also scored 18 and 16 points, respectively, in wins over Alhambra and Dougherty Valley.

GIRLS

LAUREN NICOLOSI, Carondelet, Sr. -- Nicolosi had a combined 36 points, 31 rebounds, five blocks and two assists in the Cougars' wins over San Ramon Valley, Livermore and Deer Valley.

ANTUANISHA WRIGHT, Emery, So. -- Wright had 37 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-40 victory over Fremont Christian. She also had 19 points, seven assists and six steals in a 63-25 win over Contra Costa Christian.
