WALNUT CREEK -- Power has been restored to all of the roughly 2,700 customers who were in the dark for several hours Wednesday night.

Power was knocked out due to equipment failure on a power pole at 5:45 p.m. and restored to all customers at 8:14 p.m., said PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris.

PG&E crews remain on the area of the outage making repairs and an investigation will determine what caused the equipment failure, Morris said.

Power was out on Alpine Road, South California Boulevard, Newell Avenue, San Miguel Drive, Walker Avenue and from Sierra Drive to Walnut Boulevard, she said.
