PITTSBURG -- No one was injured, but a cat died in a one-alarm house fire early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The fire was reported about 4:06 p.m. at a single-story home on the 1100 block of Jensen Drive, according to a Contra Costa Fire dispatcher. Firefighters kept the blaze contained to two bedrooms and had it under control by about 4:27 a.m.

The owner had left the home to stay with relatives, and no one else was home at the time of the fire, according to a news release from fire officials. The cat was found in a bedroom during a search of the home after the fire was brought under control.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation. Officials estimated that damage to the home and its contents totaled about $50,000.
