PLEASANTON -- With a concert schedule filled with blasts from the past, tribute bands and newer music, the Alameda County Fair has announced its 2013 concert schedule.
The fair, in its 101st season, will run June 19 to July 7. It has a "Summer Fun Starts Here" theme for this year. The fair will be closed on Mondays, and will feature $1 admission and $1 rides on opening day.
The evening concert entertainment will include Weird Al Yankovic, Air Supply and Clay Walker.
Here is the entertainment schedule so far:
June 19: Hinder, alternative rock; June 20: Kix Brooks, country; June 21: Marshall Tucker Band, country/rock; June 22: The Spinners, R&B; June 23: Lover Boy, rock; June 25: Evolution, Journey Tribute Band, rock; June 26: Francesca Battistelli, Christian; June 27: Air Supply, rock; June 28: to be announced; June 29: Kenny "Baby Face" Edmonds, R&B; June 30: Los Caminantes, Hispanic; July 2: Caravanserai,
Santana Tribute Band, rock; July 3: Zepparella, Led Zepplin Tribute Band, rock; July 4: Blues Festival; July 5: Weird Al Yankovic, comedy; July 5: Zendaya, Pop Disney; and July 7: Clay Walker, country.
In addition to livestock displays, commercial displays, homemade goods and fine arts, the fair will feature a full-scale carnival, horse racing plus three fireworks shows -- on Fridays June 21, June 28 and July 5.
Fair hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Advance tickets will be on sale until June 18. Advance sale tickets are $8 for adults , ages 13-61; $6 for seniors; $4 for kids ages 6-12. Under 6 enters for free. Tickets bought at the gate will be $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for kids. A season pass is available for $30.
Also, the fair will offer free admission to seniors on Thursday and to kids under 12 on Fridays.
