LIVERMORE -- Four notable female military veterans will visit Las Positas College on Thursday for the school's first "Honoring Women Veterans" event.

The free program is being presented by the school's Veterans First program and will be held 1 to 3 p.m. in the Little Theater, Building 800. The school is at 3033 Collier Canyon road.

The four speakers will be Col. Peggy L. Stradford, a deputy commanding officer for Army Reserve's Pacific Training Division, 75th Training Command; Lindsey Sin, the state's deputy secretary for Women Veterans Affairs; Star Lara, the Woman Veterans Coordinator for Swords to Plowshares; and Dottie Guy, outreach coordinator for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans for the Oakland Vet Center.

The event coincides with Women's Military History Week, Military Women's History Month and Women's History Month.
