PLEASANT HILL -- A probation search of a home in Martinez led officers to a woman who is now behind bars on suspicion of burglarizing a Pleasant Hill home, police said.

On May 6, a resident came home to find that their house the 700 block of Harvard Drive in Pleasant Hill had been broken into and several electronics and pieces of jewelry had been stolen, according to Pleasant Hill police Sgt. Gary Brown.

Witnesses told police they saw a woman, later identified as 23-year-old Martinez resident Amanda Kay Bruntz, driving a gold SUV away from the home.

During the investigation, police conducted a probation search of Bruntz's home on Plaza Drive in Martinez. Police arrested Bruntz and recovered several stolen items from the Pleasant Hill home.

Bruntz was booked into County Jail in Martinez on two counts of burglary and one count of possession of stolen property.
