DUBLIN -- Community college district trustees have chosen the current president of the College of Alameda to take over as chancellor of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District'.

On Tuesday, the college aboard agreed to offer the job to Dr. Jannett Jackson.

At a Turesday meeting, board members voted to authorize Interim Chancellor Judy Walters and a board subcommittee to make the job offer to Jackson, and to enter into contract negotiations. According to a press release, the board intends to ratify the contract at its June 25 meeting.

Jackson is president of the College of Alameda in the Peralta Community College District and previously served as vice president of instruction at the college. She is also a former instructional dean at Fresno City College, a retired colonel with the California Army National Guard, and an Iraq war veteran.
