CONCORD -- Counselors will be on hand to help people enroll in Covered California and Medi-Cal at a health coverage fair in Concord on Saturday.

The event, aimed at uninsured people throughout Contra Costa County, is sponsored by the county Health Services Department, county Employment and Human Services Department, the Community Clinic Consortium and La Clinica de la Raza. It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the multi-service center at Meadow Homes Elementary School, 1371 Detroit Ave.

Open enrollment for Covered California ends March 31.

Anyone interested in applying for health coverage at Saturday's event should bring photo identification; proof of California residency, such as a utility bill; proof of income, such as paystubs from the past 30 days, or the most recent income tax filings; and documents showing the applicant's citizenship or immigration status.
