ANTIOCH -- The clock is ticking for those who are looking to enroll in Covered California.

But, some local health groups are looking to help in the process.

Contra Costa Health Services, the Community Clinic Consortium, La Clinica de la Raza and Contra Costa Employment & Human Services are holding a sign-up event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8 for those who are uninsured.

The event will be held at Fremont Elementary School, 1413 F St.

Enrollment counselors and eligibility workers will be on site to enroll attendees in Covered California and Medi-Cal, according to a county news release.

Anyone interested in applying for health coverage should bring photo identification, proof of California residency (such as a utility bill), proof of income (such as pay stubs from the past 30 days, or most recent income tax filings), and documents showing citizenship or immigration status of each person applying.

Open enrollment for Covered California ends March 31.
