ANTIOCH -- All-stars in this city's business and civic circles will be honored next week at the Chamber of Commerce's Inaugural Gala.
The event will be held 6 p.m. March 14 at Lone Tree Golf Course & Event Center, 4800 Golf Course Road.
This year, there will just be the Citizen of the Year award for the person who has made the most impact and. Nominees are city councilman Gary Agopian, community volunteers Lori Cook and Beverly Knight, longtime city recreation leader Lonnie Karste and a nomination in memoriam for former Mayor Barney Parsons.
The nominees for Large and Small Businesses of the Year are: Delta Diablo Sanitation District, PG&E, American Trophies, Commercial Support Services and Prudential California Realty.
Josie Monaghan's Wingz to Fly is the lone pick for nonprofit of the year.
Youth of the Year nominees are: Tiffany Cooper, Margarette Gil, Hailey Hartick and Claryssa Christian Wilson.
