FREMONT -- The California School for the Deaf boys basketball team captured its first North Coast Section championship Friday, beating Bay Counties League rival St. Elizabeth 55-47 in the Division VI title game.

Alex Antiserov had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and CSD (25-3) made 10 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off a late rally by the Mustangs (18-14).

St. Elizabeth trailed by 14 points going into the fourth quarter but pulled to within 43-38 with 3:43 left. But Jax Pedersen scored back-to-back buckets, and the Eagles were never seriously threatened the rest of the game

For St. Elizabeth, Cameron Jones had 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and teammate Ronald Knighten added 16 points.

The Eagles won their two regular season meetings with the Mustangs. But St. Elizabeth came out ahead 67-62 when the two teams met for the BCL Championship last month.
