CONCORD -- Six people received moderate to minor injuries after a rollover crash closed Concord Boulevard near Concord High School on Thursday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Concord Boulevard and Landana Drive. A Toyota Forerunner that was exiting the Dana Plaza shopping center was struck by a Chevrolet Suburban that was traveling westbound on Concord Boulevard at an unknown speed, according to Concord police Sgt. Cody Harrison.

The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to roll over and strike a tree on the side of the street.The driver of the suburban suffered moderate injuries; the driver of the Toyota and four juveniles inside the car suffered moderate to minor injuries. All were hospitalized.

"They are the luckiest people in the world to be alive," said Harrison. It was not immediately known if any of those injured were wearing seat belts.

Concord Boulevard was closed between West Street and Landana for about two hours while police investigated the crash.
