Contra Costa County Supervisor Candace Andersen is seeking volunteers with District 2 for a number of voluntary county advisory boards that meet monthly and advise the Board of Supervisors on a variety of issues.
District 2 includes: Alamo, Canyon, Danville, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Parkmead, Rossmoor, San Ramon, Saranap, a portion of Walnut Creek, west of N. Main Street.
Applications are currently being accepted from residents of District 2 for seats on the following boards:
-- Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board is looking for applicants that have a professional interest in or personal commitment to alleviating drug abuse and alcohol use problems in their community.
-- Aviation Advisory Committee advises on aviation issues related to county airports.
-- In Home Support Services Public Authority Advisory Committee make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding the IHSS program.
-- Mental Health Commission reviews and evaluates the community's mental health needs, services and facilities. A consumer representative seat is available.
-- Alamo Municipal Advisory Council advises on issues related to county and local agencies' services, including parks and recreation, lighting and landscaping, land use, code enforcement, public safety, and transportation. One alternate and one youth representative seat is available.
-- Alamo Police Services Advisory Committee advises the supervisor and the sheriff on the needs of the Alamo/Danville community for extended police services.
-- County Service Area P-5 Citizen Advisory Committee advises the supervisor and the sheriff on the needs of the Roundhill, Regency Woods and Windsor Green communities for extended police services.
