BAY POINT -- Three Bay Point residents have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one person dead and another injured on Sunday.
Bay Point residents ¿Melquiades Garza, 33, ¿Miguel Alejo Rico, 26, and ¿Gerardo Hinojosa, 25, were booked into the County Jail in Martinez and are being held on approximately $1.5 million bail each. A spokesman for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office did not say when or where they were arrested.
Garza faces charges of murder in connection with the shooting death of a still-unidentified man around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Rico faces charges of conspiracy, being an accessory to murder and a drug violation. Hinojosa faces charges of conspiracy, being an accessory to murder and receiving stolen property.
On Sunday, Contra Costa County deputy sheriffs responded to Mountain View Avenue for an "unknown problem."
When they arrived on scene, they found two shooting victims. A man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 25-year-old woman was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where she is listed in stable condition, according to sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.
