KNIGHTSEN -- A suspicious fire destroyed a home Monday morning in Knightsen, a fire official said.
Firefighters were called to the home on the 1400 block of Delta Road at 5:26 a.m., said East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Chief Hugh Henderson. The home was unoccupied and undergoing renovations, Henderson said, and no one was injured.
The blaze caused the roof of the home to collapse, leaving it a total loss, Henderson said. Fire crews had the flames extinguished 15 minutes after arriving, authorities said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but Henderson called it suspicious.
