OAKLAND -- Three men were taken to the hospital Saturday with serious injuries after an apparent head-on crash in East Oakland, according to police.

At 3:04 p.m., two vehicles going opposite directions on 60th Avenue at Bancroft Avenue crashed into each other, in what appears to be a head-on collision, said Officer J. Moore.

All of the men sustained major injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Two are in serious condition and one is in very serious condition, Moore said.

Police are interviewing witnesses and investigating whether alcohol or speed played a factor, he said.
