MORAGA -- Cliff Dochterman, notable for accomplishments both within and beyond where he lives, has been named Moraga's Citizen of the Year for 2014, and will be honored Friday, May 2, at a banquet at the Saint Mary's College Soda Center.
Dochterman has led many local initiatives in his 20 years living in Moraga, including beautification projects with Moraga parks and recreation department (including play structures in local parks for the community's youth), and recently helped create the Moraga Employee of the Month program, honoring deserving town employees.
Dochterman has also served on a larger stage, promoting humanitarian causes throughout the world, primarily through a 56-year affiliation with Rotary. In 1992-93 he was World President of Rotary International.
The May 2 dinner begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour; dinner follows at 7 and the program at 8. Reservations may be made using Visa or MasterCard. Those with confirmed reservations may pay at the door; deadline for reservation is April 29.
