ANTIOCH -- A toddler who died Friday after he was found in a pool at a home has been identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office as Marceau Singh-Jackson.
Police and paramedics were called about 3:45 p.m. to the 2700 block of Zinfandel Court for a report of an unresponsive toddler, police said.
Adults at the home said they had left 18-month-old Marceau and a 4-year-old in the backyard, but that there was a fence around the pool, Lt. Don LaDue said.
When they returned to the backyard, they found the infant inside the pool.
It was not immediately clear how the infant got into the water and police on Monday were not releasing new information about the case.
Medical responders performed CPR on the child and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A coroner's spokeswoman could not confirm if the boy's death was a result of him drowning.
Police over the weekend were interviewing adults at the home but did not say whether they were the toddler's parents or if any charges were pending.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 925-778-2441 or text an anonymous tip to 274637.
