WALNUT CREEK -- The city's 2014 Memorial Day ceremony, featuring keynote speaker Roxane Langevin, begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Civic Park, Civic Drive and Broadway.
Roxane Langevin is the mother of Sean Langevin, who was killed in a November 2007 ambush attack in Afghanistan, will be the keynote speaker. Sean Langevin was posthumously was awarded two Bronze Stars.
The ceremony also will include the unveiling of plaques that list the names of Walnut Creek residents who sacrificed their lives in World War I, World War II and the Korean War. Music will be provided by the Walnut Creek Concert Band, under the direction of Harvey Benstein.
