THE STAT LINE: Hoerner had 10 strikeouts and allowed two hits in six scoreless innings and hit an RBI triple for one of his two hits as the Jayhawks beat St. Joseph Notre Dame 5-0 in the North Coast Section Division V championship game. He also went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and three RBIs in Head-Royce's 11-0 semifinal victory over Stuart Hall.

EVENT: 110-meter high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles
THE STAT LINE: The USC-bound standout won two titles at the NCS Meet of Champions -- the 110 high hurdles in 13.96 seconds and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 37.36. Morris' best time in the 300 hurdles this season is 36.94, which leads the state heading into the state meet this weekend.
THE STAT LINE: DiMercurio powered the Bulldogs to the NCS Division II title by driving in four runs in a 5-0 win over Carondelet in the championship game. She went 2 for 3 with a three-run homer and infield single. She also scored two runs in the semifinals when Alhambra beat Livermore 10-0.
THE STAT LINE: Pozzi went 3 for 3, including a single that drove in the eventual winning run in a 2-0 victory over St. Patrick-St. Vincent in the NCS Division IV championship game. She also was 2 for 3 with two RBIs in a 5-0 semifinal victory over Moreau Catholic.
JOE DEMERS, College Park, baseball, Jr. -- The Diablo Valley Athletic League MVP used his bat and arm to lead the Falcons to the NCS Division II title. DeMers was the winning pitcher in a 7-2 win over Marin Catholic-Kenfield in the championship game, striking out eight in a complete game effort. He also hit a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs.
MATT THOMAS, Acalanes, track and field, Sr. -- Thomas swept the titles in the throwing events at the NCS Meet of Champions. He won the shot put with a personal best mark of 57-03 and was tops in the discus with a throw of 171-05.
ARDEN CRESON, Miramonte, track and field, Fr. -- Creson won the long jump at the NCS Meet of Champions on the event with a personal best mark of 18 feet, 2 inches.
VAI LOUSI, Washington, track and field, So. -- Lousi set two personal bests in her final three attempts to win the discus title at the NCS Meet of Champions. She won with a mark of 135 feet. Lousi also placed second in the shot put (40-81/2).
