PITTSBURG -- This city is hosting a festival Thursday afternoon that touts the many ways that residents can be more environmentally friendly.

The Green Footprint Festival will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Small World Park, 2551 Harbor St. Admission is $2 for all ages.

The event, hosted by Pittsburg's environmental affairs division, will feature a magic, comedy and ventriloquism show, kids' crafts with reused materials, and kids activities throughout the park put on by several green community organizations.

The park will also be filled with educational exhibits for both kids and adults, highlighting topics such as recycling, saving energy and water, wildlife and parks, watersheds and alternative transportation.

The festival also marks the beginning of the park's summer season. Small World Park's hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
