LIVERMORE -- The Livermore school district recently announced the appointments of a new principal and two vice principals.

Jill Bradford, a Bay Area elementary school principal since 2010, was named principal of Marylin Avenue Elementary School. Bradford, a legal advocate, legislative analyst, and educational non-profit leader, has expertise in English language development, educational equity, and trauma-informed and brain-based learning.

Alex Eckert, a vice principal at Livermore High, will move across town to take the position of vice principal of Mendenhall Middle School. He will replace the recently retired Al Bernal.

A teacher for 21 years at East Avenue Middle School, Livermore High, Vineyard Independent Study High School, and Granada High, Tom Fletcher will become the newest vice principal at Livermore High.

Fletcher has taught social studies at Livermore High for the past 11 years and has served as leadership advisor and basketball coach.

The appointments take effect July 1.
