LIVERMORE -- Firefighters squelched a small house fire in the 3900 block of Harvard Court on Saturday night.
The single-alarm fire appeared to have started in the oven of the four-bedroom, single-family home just before crews arrived around 8 p.m., according to Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Testa.
The fire caused heavy damage to the kitchen area and moderate smoke damage to the rest of the home, Testa said. Damages were estimated at $35,000.
The house was vacant at the time of the incident.
