Pleasanton residents who still need a few ideas can discover new strategies for conserving water at an free workshop on July 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the city's Operations Services Center.

The "Adapting to Drought" workshop -- featuring author and landscape architect Sarah Sutton -- will teach tips on tracking water use, converting lawns to drought-friendly alternatives, keeping landscaping alive, and designing climate-adapted gardens.

Space is limited and attendees must RSVP by calling 925-931-5504.

The Operations Services Center is at 3333 Busch Road.
