OAKLAND -- A 22-year-old Oakland man fatally shot Saturday morning in East Oakland was identified by police Monday as Omarde Wilson.

Wilson was shot about 1:45 a.m. in the 8600 block of International Boulevard. Wilson, who lived in the area, was walking on the sidewalk when he was approached by another man who after a brief exchange of words shot him, Oakland police Officer Robert Trevino said.

The gunman fled on foot and Wilson died at Highland Hospital at 2:28 a.m. Saturday.

Trevino said police don't have a motive yet for the shooting and no arrests have been made.
