'Clean sweep' of PG&E needed

Some things do not change ... so it is time for a change.

PG&E continues its rogue behavior, sacrificing public confidence in the firm and, especially, its management.

Recall that, during the generating crisis, PG&E used its complex corporate structure to shield ill-gotten profits for distribution to share holders. Then it got a rate increase for pipeline maintenance, but did not do the work. The money went to stockholders and bonuses for managers. The San Bruno disaster shows what can happen when construction is flawed, basic maintenance is delayed and equipment is operated outside of design specifications. Instead of taking responsibility, PG&E's management tried to divert blame. Now, their plan for the future: Clear-cut the trees.

PG&E's arrogance is astounding. I doubt that the culture can be rectified. The State of California should cancel PG&E's licenses to operate. Since the public needs the distribution, the state should use the powers of eminent domain to take over and operate the utility on an interim basis, until it can be restructured and sold back to the public over a period of time. Further, the current managers and higher-ups at PG&E should be precluded from joining the management team of the new utility.

Some things do not change on their own, so the time has come for a clean sweep.

Jews won't lie down and die

Anti-Israel protesters here and elsewhere are not the "useful idiots" some claim. Far from it. While the hostile rhetoric sometimes differs, their goals and those of the terrorists controlling Gaza coincide.

Islam defines Jews as "apes" and "pigs," progressives parrot an Islamic myth of Zionist genocide and the result is an obscene narrative about so-called "Zionism" that closely parallels white supremacist agitprop. When Hamas proclaims their mission is to destroy Israel and initiate warfare targeting all Israeli citizens (evidently including Israeli Muslims, Christians and Druze), the protesters rant "disproportionate force" and condemn Israel for defending itself.

Clearly the core problem here is that those pesky Jews simply refuse to lie down and die.

Islamic monarchies, theocracies and terrorist thugocracies control 99.9 percent of the Middle East. A Jewish democracy controlling 0.1% is intolerable. Hence the "Palestinian" problem serves as Islam's front line to exterminate Israel. For further clarification see Caroline Glick's "The Myth of the Two-State Solution" video and review PLO Executive Committee member Zahir Muhsein's 1977 admission that "Palestinians" are a political and tactical fraud.

Some 'cradle of civilization'

From the dawn of history, the people in the Middle East have proved that they don't understand how to get along and tolerate different religions and ways of life. They are so filled with hatred that they forget that their enemies are human beings.

People could create a Garden of Eden in the Middle East, but instead of building buildings in peace, they'd rather bomb them in destruction. When will the insanity stop? When will the adults grow up?

And when will we all suffer when the first nuclear mushroom cloud floats over the Middle East? We are facing Armageddon and no iron dome will protect us from our own stupidity. War is not the solution to problems in the Middle East.

The Middle East is the cradle of civilization -- some cradle, some civilization!
