CONCORD -- Two teenagers were wounded, including a young man shot in the chest, in what police said was a gang-related shooting Tuesday in north Concord.
Shortly before 9 p.m., police responded to Solano Market, located at 2191 Solano Way, after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. No victims were found, but police soon learned that two victims, ages 18 and 19, had just come into John Muir Hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police say that the two young men had been standing with another man near a parked car in the lot on Solano Way and Overhill Drive when an unknown suspect walked up and opened fire, said Lt. Steve Dyer.
The 18-year-old was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm and released, while the 19-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and underwent surgery.
Dyer said the shooting appears to be gang-related and remains under investigation.
