DANVILLE -- San Ramon Valley High School students, many dressed in the school colors of green and white, mourned classmate Robert Orlando on Thursday.

The at-school tribute was followed by a candlelight vigil at a greenbelt near the Danville home of Orlando, 17. The high school senior died Monday evening after a crash on El Capitan Drive. He was a passenger in a car carrying two other San Ramon Valley High School students, both of whom were injured.

Students, family and friends were invited to the vigil on the greenbelt between Delta Way and Mustang Drive, off El Capitan Drive.

Orlando's memorial service, which will be open to the public, will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2601 San Ramon Valley Blvd., San Ramon.

Authorities haven't identified the other two boys who were in the crash, nor have they revealed the cause of the crash.

Danville police Chief Steve Simpkins has said the teens' injuries are not considered life-threatening.
