MARTINEZ -- A Sacramento man has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in last month's fatal stabbing of an Ace Hardware employee in El Sobrante.
Prosecutors say Daymond Agnew, 34, stabbed 49-year-old Pinole resident Daniel Joseph Stone 17 times at Oliver's Ace Hardware on Aug. 4 after Agnew started spray-painting his face inside the store and Stone directed co-workers to call police.
Agnew entered his plea on Tuesday. He remains in jail in lieu of $1.3 million bail as he awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 14.
