MARTINEZ -- A 31-year-old Pittsburg woman has been sentenced to four years in County Jail for causing her boyfriend's fatal head injury.
Julie Ann Holland pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced Friday in the death of 50-year-old Pittsburg resident Shelton Tyrone Johnson.
Prosecutors say an intoxicated Johnson was standing on a sloped, concrete driveway when Holland pulled him backward, causing his traumatic head injury on Jan. 27. Johnson died from the injury about three weeks later.
Holland was originally charged with murder and robbery for allegedly rifling through Holland's pockets once he was unconscious, but the former charge was reduced to involuntary manslaughter and the latter was dismissed at a preliminary hearing in May.
