DUBLIN -- The city is challenging local residents to monitor and reduce home energy use while helping the Dublin library.
From now until Jan. 31, Dublin residents can sign up online for the free Home Energy Analyzer to assess their current energy use and ways to reduce it. Visit HomeEnergyAnalyzer.org to sign up.
If enough people sign up, $1,000 will be donated to Friends of the Dublin Library.
Residents who sign up will also be entered in drawings for $25 hardware store gift cards.
Dublin is teaming up with Energy Upgrade California in Alameda County to sponsor the voluntary energy conservation initiative. For detials, visit Dublin.ca.gov/EnergyChallenge.
"The Home Energy Analyzer is a simple way to track energy usage and find potential energy leaks," said Judi Ettlinger of StopWaste, an agency helping carry out the energy savings program in Alameda County.
