PLEASANT HILL -- John F. Kennedy University will hold a memorial program on Friday, the 50th anniversary of his death.
The program will be held in the main lobby of the university, at 100 Ellinwood Way, from 10 until 11 a.m. A moment of silence at 10:30 a.m. will mark the time of Kennedy's Nov. 22, 1963 assassination in Dallas, which took place at 12:30 p.m. Central time.
The event is part of a monthlong remembrance at the university -- the only one in the United States to bear the president's name. County Supervisor Karen Mitchoff, Pleasant Hill Mayor Michael Harris and university co-founder Georgia Morrison are the expected speakers.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 925-969-3300.
