ANTIOCH -- Residents with questions about navigating the complexities of the Affordable Care Act can attend a workshop Thursday night.
The workshop, hosted by Assemblyman Jim Frazier, D-Oakley, will be will 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fremont Elementary, 1413 F St.
Participants will have a chance to meet with health care service providers for Contra Costa County, including Kaiser Permanente, Blue Shield, Contra Costa Health Plan, La Clinica, Planned Parenthood, county employment and health services, and the state agency that counsels the elderly on health insurance.
The Affordable Care Act was signed into law in March 2010, putting in place comprehensive health insurance reforms. Covered California is a statewide marketplace for the law where Californians can buy health insurance and not have plans denied or canceled if they have pre-existing conditions or become sick.
Admission to the event is free, but RSVPs are encouraged.
