WALNUT CREEK -- A community workshop on Walnut Creek's current and future housing needs will be held this Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at City Hall, 1666 N. Main St.

The city is updating its "housing element" for 2015-2022. This is a state-required part of the city's general plan outlining how officials would accommodate affordable housing assigned to Walnut Creek by the state via the "regional housing needs allocation." The goal is to support a diverse variety of housing types (and prices) to meet the needs of current and future residents.

The public can also provide input on Walnut Creek's housing needs through December by logging onto the City's "Open Town Hall" page at www.walnut-creek.org/opentownhall.

For more information, contact Margot Ernst, the city's housing analyst, at 925-943-5899 ext. 2208.
