Coach of the year

PATRICK ESTES, Dougherty Valley -- Estes, a longtime tennis player in his fifth season heading the Dougherty Valley program, guided the Wildcats to their first Diablo Foothill Athletic League and North Coast Section Division I team championships. They beat Tamalpais 5-2 in the NCS team final to improve to 22-0. The Wildcats also advanced to the semifinals of the NorCal tournament.

FIRST TEAM

ALLISON CHUANG, Albany, Jr. -- Chuang won a second straight NCS Division I singles title and did not lose a set in the section tournament. She led the Cougars to the Tri-County Athletic League championship and to the semifinals of the NCS Division II team tournament.

JESSICA CHEN, Foothill, Jr. -- Chen went unbeaten in East Bay Athletic League action, including a straight-sets win in the championship match of the league tournament.

COURTNEY SAMUDA, Heritage, So. -- Samuda captured the Bay Valley Athletic League championship for the second straight year and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCS Division I singles tournament. She won the Freedom Invitational and finished 21-1 on the season.

KAELLI THIEL Piedmont, So. -- The West Alameda County Conference-Foothill Division champion advanced to the NCS Division II championship match. She also helped Piedmont to its first NCS team title in 15 years.

RICKIMAE TORRES, Dougherty Valley, Sr. -- As the No. 3 seed, Torres finished second in the NCS Division I singles tournament after she won the Diablo Foothill Athletic League title for the fourth consecutive year.

ISABELLA VON EBBE, Acalanes, Jr. -- The DFAL standout advanced to the finals of the DFAL singles tournament and to the semifinals of the NCS Division I championships.
