Pleasanton: Lawsuit filed in fatal officer-involved shooting of teen

The family of a San Jose teenager who was shot dead by a police officer in a sensational incident last summer filed a federal lawsuit against the Pleasanton Police Department on Monday.

Firefighters controlled a vehicle fire that spread into vegetation Monday afternoon in San Leandro, a fire official said.  
The ex-girlfriend of accused killer Darnell Williams, who faces the death penalty for the deaths of killing Alaysha Carradine, 8, and Anthony Medearis Jr., testified against him Monday.  
The 21-year-old man was shot in North Oakland not far from his home.  
A pregnant woman and her fetus survived an Easter Sunday shooting, according to Antioch police.
