San Jose police on Monday night arrested three people for having an assault weapon and with evading police.
Officers located a Tec 9 after the three people -- who were not immediately identified -- tried to elude them in the area near Evergreen Valley High School, according to police Sgt. Jason Dwyer.
"When you take a gun off the streets, that's a good feeling," Dwyer said. "But if you take a Tec 9 off the street, those officers went home feeling like they relay accomplished something. You definitely don't want a Tec 9 floating around your community."
Dwyer described the Tec 9 as an assault weapon.
