OAKLAND -- Two men fatally shot Monday night as they drove through West Oakland were identified by police Wednesday.

Police identified the driver as Ronald Perry, 28 and the passenger as Erin Adams, 19, both of Oakland. Police said the men were friends.

They were shot about 9:55 p.m. as they drove in the 1000 block of Filbert Street. The Dodge Avenger they were in continued on to the 1200 block of Filbert, where it stopped on a slight hill at Lowell Park.

Police said the men may have been in the area visiting relatives or friends.

The car belonged to a friend of Perry's, police said. Police don't know if they were shot by someone in another vehicle or by someone standing on the street.

Officer Eriberto Perez Angeles said Wednesday police have gotten some information about the shooting, but have not yet established a motive or made any arrests.
