SUNNYVALE -- A 34-year-old woman died Sunday afternoon after three vehicles collided at a Sunnyvale intersection, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

The department would not release the identity or the city of residence of the woman, who was pronounced dead at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

She was among seven people injured in the crash at East Duane Avenue and San Luisito Way, police reported. They would not release a description of the automobiles involved or an account of what may have transpired. A 37-year-old man suffered major head injuries in the crash and is being treated at Stanford University Hospital.

Five other injured victims were transported to area hospitals. Police would not release the names of the injured.

Firefighters and police responded to a crash report at 2:38 p.m. in the residential neighborhood. There is a stop sign at San Luisito, where it ends at Duane.
