WATSONVILLE - Several men approached a home on Sudden Street on Sunday evening and fired several shots through a window in what is being investigated as a gang crime, police said.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Sudden Street, near the corner of East Fifth Street, about 5:45 p.m. for a report of shots fired, Sgt. Tony Magdayao said.
They found that a home there had been shot at several times and that a family with several children, ages infant to young adult, were inside and unhurt, Magdayao said.
Police say several suspects came up to the home and fired multiple rounds at a window before fleeing in different directions, he said.
The shooters were described only as wearing dark clothing, he said.
Magdayao said one man was seen running off holding a handgun.
The men were not found despite an extensive search, police said.
Officers ask anyone with information to call the Investigations Bureau at 831-768-3350 or the crime tipline at 831-768-3544.
