SAN RAMON -- An elementary school was on lockdown early Wednesday afternoon as police searched a San Ramon neighborhood for one of two men suspected of burglarizing a home, officials said.

Police arrested one man as he was leaving the house in the area of Windemere Parkway and Longleaf Circle at 11:08 a.m., and the other suspect ran from the scene, Lt. Tom LaRocque said. Officers closed streets in that area and used police dogs and a helicopter to search for the man, who was found in the 17000 block of Bollinger Canyon Road, LaRocque said.

Live Oak Elementary School at 5151 Sherwood Way was placed on lockdown while sheriff's deputies conducted the search, police said. The lockdown was lifted just before 1 p.m.

Both men, whom have not been identified, were arrested for first degree burglary, LaRocque said.
