LAFAYETTE -- Three Vallejo residents were arrested in a Lafayette neighborhood Wednesday after officers searched their car and said it was full of residents' property, authorities said.
Michael Thornton, 29, Staci Blanton, 39, and Jessica Colcleaser, 36, all of Vallejo, were arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property, petty theft, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia after police searched the car, which was connected to a neighborhood theft spree, police said.
Officers responded to the 3300 block of Walnut Lane about 6:55 a.m. after a resident said he saw a man steal his neighbor's bicycle, then walk down the street stealing mail from mailboxes, authorities said.
Lafayette Police Chief Eric Christensen said the resident gave a detailed description of the man and the car that was trailing him, and police found the vehicle nearby with the three suspects inside. Officers discovered the bicycle, and also found property stolen from around the neighborhood inside the car.
Blanton and Colcleaser are being held at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $120,000 bail. Thornton is being held for a probation violation on a no bail status.
