Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood this July, a police spokesman said today.
Leonard Colvin, 41, of San Francisco, was arrested Oct. 7 for the murder of 39-year-old Emmett Byron, Officer Gordon Shyy said. Colvin is believed to have shot Byron in the 200 block of Turk Street, near Leavenworth Street, at about 11:40 p.m. on July 20, according to police.
Byron was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. He died Aug. 19, police said. Although an arrest has now been made in the slaying, police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
