GILROY -- Police have arrested a 21-year-old man who is a suspect in the Christmas Day killing of a 21-year-old woman, the city's third homicide this year.
Gilroy police this morning arrested Ernesto Rodriguez, who is a suspect in the murder of 21-year-old Alma Roque Ortega, according to a press release.
At about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Rodriguez's family returned to their apartment on the 8100 block of Kelton Drive and found Roque Ortega dead in a bedroom. Police say Roque Ortega doesn't live with Rodriguez and has a criminal protective restraining order against Rodriguez issued from San Benito County in January 2013.
Thursday morning, a patrol officer located Rodriguez in the 8000 block of Kelton Drive and arrested him.
Police did not specify the relationship between Rodriguez and Roque Ortega.
