NEW DATA ON SANITARY DISTRICT PENSION SPIKING
A retired Central Contra Costa Sanitary District manager spiked his pension by $50,000 a year. As reported here two weeks ago, the increase would be disallowed under a new state law currently tied up in court.
Such spiking is common at the district. Of 30 employees who retired in 2012 and 2013, 28 did similar. A spreadsheet documenting their spiking has been added to the online version of the previous column. For the link, go to the column at contracostatimes.com/daniel-borenstein.
