St. Joan of Arc-San Ramon 32, St. Isidore-Danville 29: St. Joan of Arc was led by Kaylee Wong (11 points) and Tiffany Berryman (10 points). Mia DyBuncio, Marley Fernandes, Rachel Murphy, Keya Shah, Katrina Flores, Nikki Kim, Rachel Meyer, and Maddie Mooney all contributed to the victory.
Wharton, N.J. -- All American Games, and Football University (FBU) announced that seventh grade defensive end, Grant Vorous from Danville, has been selected to compete for Region No. 1 Bay Area at this year's FBU National Championship.
The FBU National Championship kicked off Dec. 1 at various locations across America with the winners advancing in this single-elimination tournament that features 64 state-based teams. The first four rounds will take place at regional sites and the semifinals and championship will take place at the Alamodome on Jan. 5-6.
This year's tournament will be the biggest youth football tournament ever put together, featuring an expansion to 64 teams nationwide, including more than 250 games, 6,000 athletes, and 1,200 coaches. The tournament will showcase 250 games throughout a four-week period.
The FBU National Championship is produced by All American Games and its premier national training academy, Football University (FBU). The 7th-grade and 8th-grade teams are comprised of the top 35 all-star athletes from various regions throughout the United States, who tried-out for the 64 regional teams. Athletes were identified through FBU's network of state tournament directors from more than 40 FBU camps in various U.S. cities, and through those nominated on the tournament's page located at www.footballuniversity.org.
The U14 Strikers of the Mustang Soccer Club completed a successful 2012 season by winning the Norcal Premier Soccer Gold league championship. The Strikers' girls finished with a 7-1 record and didn't allow a goal in the fall season until their final match. Throughout the 2012 season, the Strikers posted a 20-12-10 record playing in a spring league, five tournaments and fall league. Throughout the season they brought home two tournament championship trophies and finished as a semi-finalist in a another tournament.
