Sarah Rudd, a student of Emma C. Smith Elementary School in Livermore, won the 2012 California Chemistry Week Poem Contest in the third-to-fifth-grade category that was sponsored by the American Chemical Society. Sarah won the California section, and her poem has been submitted to the national contest.
Livermore student artists Enikoe Bihari, of Granada High School, and Jodi Bryant, of Junction Avenue Middle School, were two of the five winners from more than 300 California participants in a recent art contest sponsored by Dannis Wolliver Kelley Law Firm. Each of the winning students will receive a $75 award, and the firm will donate $200 in art supplies to the classroom of each student.
