Color abounds at East Contra Costa regional parks this spring

Four East Bay Regional Parks offer East County nature lovers all the colors of the rainbow. 'We seem to be pretty flush with wildflowers,' said one naturalist, who assures us Mother Nature's show will go on for weeks. 
California drought: Water conservation weakening as drought worsens. Tougher rules on the way?
Statewide, Californians cut water use 8.8 percent in January, according to new data released Tuesday by the State Water Resources Control Board. That's a far cry from the 20 percent water conservation target that Gov. Jerry Brown asked state residents to hit last year.
