PLEASANTON -- Girl Scout Carly Krakauer is looking for artists to help finish a mural project at the Valley Humane Society shelter.

Krakauer is working on an ambitious project to help win her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. Her plan is for five murals representing all the Tri-Valley cities to be painted on the walls of the society's animal visitor rooms. She is also building five cat tunnels for the shelter.

The first of five murals was done by local artist Yang Liu earlier this month. It represents the city of Dublin. Pleasanton artist Debbie Wardrope will begin painting the Pleasanton mural in December. Krakauer is looking for three artists to design and paint the murals for Danville, San Ramon and Livermore.

Krakauer is a 12-year member of the Crossroads Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of Northern California and a student at Amador Valley High School. To volunteer, email Krakauer at skibuddy778@yahoo.com.
