DUBLIN -- The holiday tree lighting show here will go on Thursday night even if rain forces the city to shelter the audience in a tent or indoors.

A children's choir and the Dublin High School jazz band will perform at the annual ceremony, to held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Dublin Civic Center, 100 Civic Plaza.

If it rains, city will pitch a large tent to keep the audience dry. In case of heavy winds as well, the city will move the audience into the Civic Center building.

"The rain will not dampen our holiday enthusiasm," said Linda Smith, a Dublin spokeswoman.

Likewise, Dublin is prepared if necessary to move its Holiday Faire indoors if it rains during the event from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Heritage Park and Museums, 6600 Donlon Way.

Crafts will be made and sold at the event.
